In the Huzurnagar constituency of Nalgonda district, Uttam Kumar Reddy Nalamada contesting the 2014 legislative assembly elections on a INC ticket defeated his closest rival Kasoju Shankaramma of TRS by a margin of 23924 votes. Out of the total polled votes of 178702 Uttam Kumar Reddy Nalamada received 69879 votes and Kasoju Shankaramma, the first runner-up, received 45955 votes.
